We are happy to announce that we received the favorable staff report from Whatcom County on Friday April 30.
Your calls, letters and emails to our County officials were invaluable in pressuring them to finally issue the report.
The next step is the hearing on the appeals from Lummi Nation. A prehearing conference will be scheduled soon, after which the briefing schedule and hearing will be set.
A link to the staff report is available on our website. When you review it you will see a small part of the materials we have provided to the County and the Corps. All this has happened with the financial support of the community which allowed us to contract the technical and legal specialist needed. Without your support we could not have come this far.
We cannot abandon this vital project after we have come so far. We share your frustration with the slow pace of government but we must move forward. Your continued support is needed and vital
